to-be-promoted managers and executives. Off-the-shelf management training or leadership
programmes are useful but not ideal to develop these qualities as they are often too remote
from the specific environment of the manager. They also keep them away from their job!

Leadership
The coach helps executives establish a purposeful vision, direction and set of goals for
the organisation. It also explores with them issues of integrity, accountability and
social responsibility that is today essential in leadership. Coaching also helps leaders
use their vision to inspire people, build sustainable competitive advantage deriving from
their vision, develop scenarios, and strategically plan the implementation of the work
flowing from the vision.
Management
The coach helps managers understand and implement the strategic vision of their leaders
and enhance their work practice in setting objectives, assessing risk, problem solving,
selecting, organising, motivating their team, communicating across the organisation,
monitoring performance, developing their staff, and delegating appropriately.
